Patrons of the Scheme

Swindon Town Football In The Community Trust have two patrons of the scheme in the form of Craig Easton and Michael Pook

Craig Easton

Craig Easton arrived at the County Ground in June 2007 and has since been involved with the Community Scheme.

"Since signing for Swindon last summer, I have seen at first hand the many projects and activities run by the scheme, all helping young people to be part of the club. These include Tiny Tots Coaching, Soccer Centres, In School Coaching, Disability Football and Twilight Football which, in particular, helps get youngsters off the streets and playing football. All of these and more are run by a dedicated team of FITC coaches, aiming to involve as many young people as possible with football in the area and to make a difference in their lives for the better. Most of all it gives young people a lot of enjoyment that might not be there in everyday life and that is why I am delighted to work alongside the scheme and help in whatever way I can."

Michael Pook
Michael Pook a  former STFC 1st team player, who now plays for Cheltenham Town in League 2, started his link with club by attending the Community Office Fun Weeks as a youngster. The skills that Michael learned and developed during the courses put him in good stead as he progressed on to his career.

Michael said, “I really enjoyed all of the fun weeks I attended, they were fantastic. It was something to look forward to over the school holidays, instead of just sitting inside watching TV. It was brilliant learning new football skills, playing small sided games and getting the opportunity to meet some of the players. The courses were also an excellent way to make new friends and most importantly being active and having loads of fun.” Michael still attends our courses as a special guest.
